My style of yoga:

I teach a style of yoga that strongly emphasizes the breath and the connection between mind + body. I believe the practice of yoga exists to serve its students. That it can always be adapted and modified to accommodate each person’s unique needs. I offer a balance of challenge and gentle options, and encourage every student to listen to their own body.  While lessons focus on form and posture, I try to always instill a foundation of laughter. I was originally drawn to yoga because of the values of kindness and growth that are at the heart of yoga philosophy… and a big part of that is making sure we’re being kind to ourselves, enjoying our yoga practice and having fun!

My approach to yoga:

When people talk to me about wanting to try yoga, one of the most common concerns I hear is “but I’m not flexible enough.” I try to ease any hesitations by sharing a simple truth—if you can breathe, you can do yoga. It’s as simple as that. Yoga is a physical practice, but more than that, it’s a mental one. And everyone, regardless of fitness levels, can benefit from the healing powers of breathing with intention and staying grounded in the present moment. So whenever someone asks me if yoga is difficult, I answer honestly and tell them that I think the hardest part is actually finding a type of yoga that fits their needs. The reality is there are probably as many styles of yoga as there are kinds of cuisine. Find a style that suits you and watch as your life transforms…

My path to teaching yoga:

After studying Sociology and Art History as an undergraduate at NYU, I went down a series of different career paths: First, law school—for an entire semester… Then, I moved back to my hometown of Los Angeles and worked in television production. The next year, I decided to pursue business and worked for a fashion company, doing Operations and Human Resources for several years. Throughout it all, I practiced yoga—for patience, for peace and for perspective. In 2016, I enrolled in a yoga teacher training at my local yoga studio and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made.
